Today’s “thank you” goes to DR. CIUCCI. I met with my Communicative Disorders professor today and she really calmed my nerves about the class. She was so nice and willing to help me as needed throughout the semester.

Today’s “thank you” goes to THEATRE 161. Back story: I am a theatre major and as a part of the requirements for my degree, I must take Theatre 161, a course that is essentially 100 hours of backstage stage crew. That isn’t an exaggeration; I am required to work for 100 hours in one of the ‘shops’ in University Theatre. Today was the first day of my shop assignment. I will be working in the costume shop this semester. Theatre 161 gets today’s ‘thank you’ because it wasn’t as terrible as I had assumed it would be. I am not a skilled sewer, but the TA this semester seems very patient and nice, which should make my hours less painful. Shameless plug: if you are at UW, come see the shows this semester so you can see my wonderful costume-creating abilities.

Today’s “thank you” goes to THE STARBUCKS IN KENOSHA, WI. So, holiday season is officially over, even according to Starbucks. Since I have been home from Israel, I have been looking everywhere for a store that still has gingerbread syrup in stock. I hadn’t been successful all week; not a single store that I visited had the syrup. Today, while en route back to UW-Madison, I asked the barista if they had the gingerbready goodness. AND THEY DID. Thank you Kenosha Starbucks!!!

Today’s “thank you” goes to MY CAMPERS, SYDNEY AND MAYA.
I ran into Sydney, Maya and their families at the Northbrook Ice Rink this afternoon while waiting to pick up Allie. I noticed the girls immediately, but was worried that they wouldn’t remember me or recognize me since I wasn’t dressed like their camp counselor. I was wrong. Both girls ran up and gave me huge hugs and talked to me about the exciting things they are learning in 1st grade. They made me smile, which in turn, made my day.

Today’s “thank you” goes to JET-LAG. Again.
I have been doing a pretty decent job of forcing myself to stay awake and not to nap, but it is so difficult to keep my head up and my eyes open.
